Pancakes are a popular breakfast dish made from a batter of flour, eggs, milk, and baking powder, cooked on a hot griddle or frying pan.
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 large egg
2 tablespoons melted butter
Maple syrup and toppings (optional)
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Heat a griddle or non-stick pan over medium heat. Grease lightly if needed.
Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side.
Serve warm with maple syrup and your choice of toppings.
